"Experts tell us that 90% of all brain development occurs by the age of five. If we don't begin thinking about education in the early years, our children are at risk of falling behind by the time they start Kindergarten."
- Robert. L. Ehrlich

"We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today."
- Stacia Tauscher

"Reading aloud with children is known to be the single most important activity for building the knowledge and skills they will eventually require for learning to read."
- Marilyn Jager Adams

The Pre-K 3 Program at St. Theresa School is Christ centered and developmentally age appropriate. It is based on Pennsylvania State Standards, and the Allentown Diocese Pre-kindergarten Guidelines. We use a Pflaum faith development program for three year olds called Seeds Gospel Weeklies. We focus on development of the whole child: spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Play is our work! We are developing pre-reading skills by immersion in Children's Literature, nursery rhymes, print awareness, music, songs and finger-plays. We are developing pre-writing and pre-math skills when exercising fine motor muscles. This is achieved when playing with play dough, working in sensory bins through sifting and pouring, and sorting various theme related items by size, shape and color. Science is introduced through simple experiments, which teach cause and effect. Each month we learn a letter, number, color, shape, game, nursery rhyme, and various concepts using a multisensory learning approach. Our program runs Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM - 3:00 PM. Before and After Care are available. Please call the school office for registration, tuition and open house information at 610-838-8161.

Luke 18:16 Jesus, however, called the children to himself and said, “Let the children come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Pray as if everything depends on God, work as if everything depends on you.” - Saint Augustine

"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men."
- Frederick Douglass
